Whoops...! [Feb. 19th, 2006|04:44 pm]

[mood |determined]

Alright, I have been a little sparse around here, I admit it. I've been eating out a lot & gorging on badness. But that ends now. Back to normal, moderate, healthy eating. Lots of water. Fruits & Veggies. Good, healthy stuff.

Snowed In Weekend [Feb. 14th, 2006|10:22 am]

[mood |confusedconfused]

Okay, well I might as well confess about my weekend, so I can move on.

Did not go well. Being snowed in is not helpful to diets.
Saturday morning I had a light english muffin with some peanut butter and jelly. Then I had a giant turkey leg at the faire, but only half. And a few bites of fudge.
For dinner I had a glass of red wine, 2 pieces of filet mignon, 2 hash brown type things, and 2 types of salad.
Then.... uh, well... ice cream and waffles. But holy fuck it was good.

Sunday morning was an egg, a piece of toast with butter, and a piece of toast with creamed chipped beef on it. Lunch was Italian bread, salami, and 2 types of cheese. and a few more bites of fudge.
Dinner was ham, spinach, and a baked potato.
Dessert = hot cocoa and a few cookies.

Okay, now that that's over.

Yesterday I made a breakfast burrito (1 egg, 2 egg whites, 1 slice cheese, salsa, and a large tbsp of ff sour cream). Lunch was tuna on whole wheat, pickles, and a small portion of potato chips.
Snack was an apple. Dinner was salad and 2 chicken sutlets, lightly breaded with lemon juice. So, back on track I guess...

Yesterday and Today... [Feb. 11th, 2006|10:54 am]

[mood |hungryhungry]

So, yesterday my parents wound up inviting me for second lunch... and since my real lunch had actually been pretty small, I agreed. Guess what? Chinese food.

I had egg drop soup and shrimp & broccoli with garlic sauce. And tea. And apparently I was hungrier than I thought because I ate the whole damn thing.

Then at (second?) dinner with Rob, I had a very small bowl of hot & sour soup and about 2/3 of my portion of steamed dumplings. With diet coke. Not terrible. Not terrible for a Friday.

Oh, and I had another ice cream sandwich half.

Today I am starting off with a light wheat english muffin with some peanut butter. I'm going to Faire today so I don't expect to be all good. But one of those big turkey legs wouldn't be bad. I'll try to be reasonable. After that I have no idea, and the impending blizzard MAY limit my food options. ;)

Doing... okayish? [Feb. 10th, 2006|07:43 am]

[mood |awake]

Whoops, forgot to post this yesterday...

I, too, caved at lunch. It was a rough day.

Lunch was a small bean burrito... I asked them to hold the cheese and sour cream so go me.
But then she put fries on and I was too weak, and ate them.
But I got a water instead of a soda, so that's something.
And then later I had a cup of honey lemon ginseng green tea. Yum.

At home (after a fight with my mom), I had a glass of red wine, a few chips and salsa, and celery with my ww-version dip.

After a nap, I made a little personal pan whole wheat pizza with soy mozz cheese and tons of broccoli...
I wanna work out the fat and calories on it bc it was almost too good not to be bad.
I made an extra one to bring to work for lunch.

Then for dessert I had a half of a Turkey Hill ice cream sandwich. At least it was just half.

Lunch: 1, Gillian: 0 [Feb. 9th, 2006|04:08 pm]

Well, at today's lunch for our coworker, I caved a little. Normally Chili's doesn't serve tortilla chips, but someone ordered several baskets for the table. I was really hungry so I started nibbling. I counted it as 1 cup of tortilla chips, which is probably a fair estimate. It took them forever to get our meals on the table, so everyone was snacking like crazy.

Then my pita came with fries. And even though I know I should have asked for broccoli or just for them to hold the fries, I didn't. And I ate every last one. They were so good. Sigh.

I was invited to go to lunch at Fudruckers tomorrow but I think I'm going to pass for the sake of my wallet and my waistline. As tempting as a giant burger is...time to show some restraint.

On the bright side - even with the chips & fries, my meal came out well below the calories and fat of the fajita quesadilla I *almost* got.

meh [Feb. 9th, 2006|11:36 am]

[mood |crappycrappy]

I'm a little messed up right now...

On the upside, even though I had a bad night at The Office, I stuck to my plan of just getting the salad... unfortunately the salad was not made well and was quite unsatisfying. Maybe next time I'll get a turkey burger and a baked potato. That would be much more satisfying.

I woke up late, so my food intake so far:
-one orange
-one cup of hot chocolate

I have no idea what the dealio is for lunch OR dinner...
I will try to get something healthy from the caf for lunch and then dinenr I will make it my business to make or buy myself something healthy.

Chili's Shocker & More [Feb. 9th, 2006|09:24 am]

[mood |cheerfulcheerful]

Dietfacts.com is a great site for looking up restaurant & product nutritional information. Since I have a coworker's farewell lunch at Chili's today, I looked up some entrees that I like so that I could make the best choice. My typical choice at Chili's is the Chicken Fajita Quesadilla ... with guacamole, of course. Turns out though that the entire entree (including the beans & rice which I always eat) is 1780 calories and 87 grams of fat. Holy. Crap. A giant burger is less calories & fat!

Anyway, the Chicken Fajita Pita has 450 calories and 17 grams of fat, so it's a much better choice and that's what I'm gonna get.

So, here's my plan for today:

B: 1 cup Maple Pecan cereal w/ .5 c 1% milk, .5 c orange juice
L: Chili's Chicken Fajita Pita, Diet Coke
D: Tuna salad on sourdough, creamy tomato soup
S: Cantaloupe cubes

Here's my Fitday Journal with today's nutritional info.
